My name is Anne Grass, and as an unsettled, pushing thirty organic farm intern, some might accuse me of hopeless sojourning. But I trust that a year of farming has already begun to put me on the road to errant wandering recovery! My journey to The Abundant Table Farm Project probably started with my first volunteer gig in Pine Ridge, South Dakota. I taught English at Red Cloud Indian School, drove a school bus, and cooked cheap lentil feasts for my fellow volunteers for three years after graduating from Creighton University. Last year I had the privilege of teaching English at St. Louis University High School in my hometown but never quite figured out how to make the transition from rural Pine Ridge, South Dakota to urban St. Louis City. After a summer spent reading Michael Pollan, Barbara Kingsolver, Jack Kerouac, Kathleen Norris, and Wendell Berry, I decided to get rooted, in the literal sense, and moved to Sunny SoCal with the hope that plants and farm work might temper my seeking soul. Vamos a ver. 🙂
Peace, Anne Grass

Dear Anne,
Days and even years of wanderings can be very productive. You have such a fertile mind and spirit, such a full heart of inquiry and compassion. Take in all the quiet joys of our friends and farm; dig deep into your well of understanding and know that you are loved and appreciated. Your work does not go unnoticed and will produce fruit–just you wait and see!
Peace be with you always,
Judy
