Farm to School

Ventura County Farm to School

In collaboration with Ventura County Farm to School (VCF2S), we work with school districts, child nutrition services directors, teachers, and cafeteria teams to promote local food, healthy eating, and hands-on agricultural education in classrooms.

Our lettuces and famous organic carrots have become regular staples in schools throughout the county. Check out the VCF2S website to meet other local farms and to learn more about this wonderful body of folks.

Farmer in the Classroom

Through our Farmer in the Classroom (FIC) 30-minute classroom-based curriculum, we visit K-12 classrooms to introduce students to sustainable agriculture, plant and soil science, food systems, and plant nutrition. The lessons are tactile for grades 1-5 and visually based for grades 6-12, and all students get to taste different fruits or vegetables from the farm.
